CCCC board renews president’s contract

Following three executive sessions totaling an hour and 10 minutes, the Cloud County Community College board of trustees voted 6-0 during a special meeting Wednesday morning to renew the contract of Dr. Adrian Douglas as college president for one year.
Trustee Tom Tuggle made the motion to renew Douglas's contract for one year at the current compensation rate of $145,000. It was seconded by Jesse Pounds and approved unanimously.
The board met in two separate 30-minute executive sessions for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel and met in executive session with Douglas for 10 minutes.
The renewal of Douglas's contract was included in the action items on the agenda for the board's regular meeting on May 28.
During the meeting, the board met in five separate executive sessions for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel.
Following the executive sessions, the board, with chairman Larry Henry and Patricia Owensby MacFarlane not in attendance, did not take action on the renewal of the president's contract.
