CCCC board of trustees approves hiring of Nikolai

The Cloud County Community College approved the hiring of Scott Nikolai to the full-time position of coordinator of institutional research, effective April 5, during a special meeting on Thursday afternoon.
Nikolai had served as the director of institutional research at Brevard College in North Carolina.
A graduate of St. Norbert College in Wisconsin with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a minor in economics, Nikolai earned his master of arts degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his doctor of philosophy degree in political science from Texas Tech University.
Following a 10-minute executive session for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, which included college president Amber Knoettgen, human resources director Chris Wilson and attorney Justin Ferrell, the board approved a resolution indicating its intent to terminate math instructor Gwen Carnes, effective immediately.
The board directed Carnes to give a written notice in person and by mail by March 5.
