CFCC committee approves awarding grants

The Community Foundation for Cloud County grants committee approved awarding more than $23,000 in grants during its meeting this week.
Grants approved by the committee include:
Seize the Moment Fund - $500 to the city of Concordia for the Big Book of Big Trucks (50 each) for the Touch-A-Truck event at the Broadway Plaza; $500 to Cloud County Ducks Unlimited for a lifetime youth hunting/fishing license; and $166 to Cloud County Health Center for casino tables for the Cloud County Foundation for Health Care, Concordia High School Student Council and Cloud County Community College student engagement program.
Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund - $15,000 to the city of Concordia for Downtown Sounds Project; $1,600 grant to the National Orphan Train Complex, Inc. to support the book donation of  “Mabel and Elky Ride the Orphan Train” book program; $3,000 to the Concordia Rotary Heritage Trail for the Dollar Tree Facility.
Cloud County Health Fund - $1,050 to the Concordia First United Methodist Church for Layette Sets for new babies in Cloud County.
Youth Activity Fund - $1,834 for casino tables.
The next grant committee meeting will be in September. There will be over $26,000 available to spend in the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and over $300,000 available to spend in the other funds at that time.
