Citywide Cleanup scheduled for next week

The city of Concordia will conduct its annual Citywide Cleanup next Monday through Friday.
The cleanup is for residential areas only and is designed to make the city a cleaner place to live.
Concordia residents are asked to place their items to be picked up near their front curb by Sunday.
Items that will be picked up will be in the following categories:
Furniture (wood and cloth covered), tree branches, metal materials, car batteries, appliances (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners) and car tires.
Items that will not be included in the spring cleanup include:
Asbestos; plumbing and electrical items; construction materials such as concrete, brick, gravel, lath/plaster, sheetrock, shingles (all types); and vinyl siding; hazardous waste items; household trash; and leaves and grass clippings.
City staff asks that residents help a neighbor, friend or church member who might need assistance with placing their items at the curb. A little help can make a big difference in whether or not the old piece of furniture or the brush pile gets to the curb.
