Cloud County Tourism plans fundraiser for statues

The Cloud County Convention & Tourism office is having a Loaded Lunch fundraiser on March 28th, and the whole town is invited.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help pay for the statue base of the National Orphan Train Complex's statue of Anna Laura Hill and Audrey Kalivoda. The statues will be placed at The Whole Wall Mural atop a decorative brick base sculpted by Mara Smith, who was one of the artists who sculpted The Whole Wall Mural.
Anna Laura Hill was a placing agent for the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) from 1909-1917, and 1924-1925. Standing 6'3" tall, Hill traveled often to Kansas to perform the annual visits required by the CAS, and was beloved by the children she helped.
Audrey Kalavoda was the Co-Director of Cloud County Tourism.  Kalavoda was killed in a car accident on Feb 8th, 2017.
These two statues will be officially unveiled May 31st during the 2019 National Orphan Train Celebration.
Please help honor these two women by attending the Cloud County Convention & Tourism's Loaded Lunch fundraiser on March 28th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at 130 East 6th Street. The lunch includes a hot baked potato bar with sour cream, bacon bits, chili, chives, and different cheeses including  nacho cheese. Lots of different types of desserts and refreshment will also be provided. All donations are free-will at the door.
