Concordia man killed when struck by car

A 59-year-old Concordia man was killed when he was struck by a car, while walking on U.S. Highway 81 south of Concordia, Wednesday night.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol news release, at 8:37 p.m. Wednesday, a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse being driven by Leo Becker, 42, Salina, was traveling southbound in the driving lane on U.S. Highway 81 six miles south of Concordia when it struck a pedestrian, Rex Young, who was in the roadway.
The Becker vehicle came to a stop on the west shoulder.
Young was killed in the accident.
Becker was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was not injured.
