County commission approves 2019 CloudCorp agreement

A 2019 professional services agreement with CloudCorp was approved by the Cloud County board of commissioners during its regular meeting on Monday.
Cost to the county for professional services concerning economic development is $55,000 plus $3,000 for small business.
Also during the meeting, Wes O'Bannon and Greg Garrmann, Central Valley Ag, met with the board and reported that the lease for the ground it is currently located at will not be renewed, and they need to relocate.
The board approved allowing Central Valley Ag to move several anhydrous ammonia storage tanks within the county after receiving approval from the Department of Agriculture.
The tanks will be moved from approximately one-quarter mile east of Concordia on K-9 Highway to approximately one-half mile west of Concordia on the north side of K-9 Highway.
A 2018 tax year property relief application filed by Bryan G. Kearns for property at 116 West Railroad St. in Miltonvale, due to fire damage, and for Mark Myer, 112 West Railroad St. in Miltonvale, due to fire damage, was approved by the commission.
Highway Department administrator Andy Asch reported gravel cost increases from $8.45 to $8.80 to the board. He also reported the department will be doing gravel work on the road south of Miltonvale this week and discussed pre-construction on the Republic Road.
Administrator Brandi Bray reported to the board that the Health Department was having problems with the roof after the snow, and it is having heating problems.
Bray also discussed purchasing a replacement vehicle. She said she would check the the car dealers in the county.
County sanitarian Marlene Stamm presented a quarterly report to the board.
Henry Eilert, Maintenance Department manager, discussed the security system at the Courthouse with the board. He said he will get prices for comparisons.
Mike Hake, Solid Waste director, discussed the Transfer Station contract rates for 2019.
The board conducted meetings with department heads during the meeting. Reports presented include:
Asch – Cleaning up from winter storm, and has turned in equipment, labor and loss of gravel costs.
Eilert – Replaced hot water heater and toilet at the Courthouse and removed snow from the Health Department roof.
Hake – Routine business.
Shella Thoman, County Clerk – Employee suggested a tobacco free incentive and commissioner Bill Czapanskiy suggested a cell phone free incentive.
The board reviewed the composition of cash balances and investments report and fund status report as of November 30 totaling $7,089,811.19.
The following expenses, totaling $91,554.45, were approved by the board:
General fund, $44,530.97; special bridge, $49; juvenile justice, $630.81; appraisal, $1,278.16; election, $302.16; court services, $15.50; road & bridge, $9,447.19; juvenile reinvestment, $56.67; community corrections, $1,269.74; Cloud County tourism & convention, $813.07; noxious weed, $390.43; solid waste, $21,822.60; employee benefits, $1,000.
