County passes resolution appointing Gering

The Cloud County board of commissioners approved a resolution appointing Brent Gering as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Cloud County effective October 1 during its regular meeting on Monday.
Changing the Emergency Preparedness Director position from part-time to full-time was approved by the county commission back in June.
The board approved the hiring of Brent Gering to Emergency Management Coordinator position last month.
Gering, a Concordia High School graduate, had worked for the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department since 2008.
Andy Asch, Highway Department administrator, met with the board during the meeting and discussed hiring a part-time position for training.
The commission authorized the position.
Asch also discussed low water areas and upcoming meetings.
Brandi Bray, Health Department administrator, met with the board and discussed the possible purchase by the county of the current Health Department building and the repairs that would be needed.
Bray also discussed upcoming meetings and flu shot clinics.
Melissa Williams presented a proclamation to the board for 4-H Week.
The board proclaimed October 6-12 as National 4-H Week throughout Concordia and Cloud County.
The proclamation encourages all of our citizens to recognize 4-H for the significant impact it has made and continues to make on empowering youth with the skills they need to lead for a lifetime.
The appointment of Anthony Perez, Mitchell County Sheriff, to the 12th Judicial District Community
Corrections Juvenile Services Authority Board for the term of July, 2019 through June 30, 2021, was approved by the board.
The board approved payroll deductions and benefits totaling $66,431.50.
The following payroll expenses totaling $162,427.07 were approved by the board:
General Fund, $88,087.03; Appraisal, $5,059.82; Noxious Weed, $1,676.46; Solid Waste, $4,618.56; Road & Bridge, $45,652.32; County Health, $15,807.85; Election, $1,525.03.
