Excessive heat watch will be in effect for Cloud County

Nearly the entire state of Kansas, including Cloud County, is under an excessive heat watch from Wednesday afternoon through Saturday evening.
An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures and high humidity is expected.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Expect high temperatures in the middle 90s to around 100 degrees, combined with humid conditions to bring afternoon heat indices into the 103-110 degree range.
Drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room when possible, staying out of the sun and checking up on relatives and neighbors is recommended.
Heat-related illnesses are possible for those spending a prolonged amount of time outdoors or those who are more susceptible to heat, such as young children and elderly.
The forecast high temperatures for Concordia are 100 on Thursday, 101 on Friday, and 99 on Saturday, before dipping to 94 on Sunday.
