Frank Carlson Library to open by appointment

The Frank Carlson Library board has approved a plan to reopen the library, by appointment, to the public beginning Monday.
Appointments can be made on Monday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m by calling the library at 243-2250.
There will be no walk-ins permitted.
Patrons can make appointments to visit the library and select materials for checkout or to use the public access computers for 30 minutes. Public computers cannot be used to play games.
Those using the computers are encouraged to bring a memory stick or other storage so they can save their work in case their projects take longer than 30 minutes to complete. The library staff will not be able to provide any one-on-one help at this time.
Service by appointment will eliminate overcrowding, especially in popular areas of the library such as around the new book shelves and DVD racks. This service model also makes it easier to clean high traffic areas between uses, especially shared computer spaces and equipment.
The Library's restrooms and water fountains remain closed for sanitary reasons.
