Kansas Field Conference visits Cloud Ceramics

Over 40 Kansas state senators and representatives from all across Kansas, and personnel from Kansas government agencies such as the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE), the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism (KDWPT), the Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) Division of Water Resources, the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS), and the Kansas Water Office (KWO) all toured the Cloud Ceramics facility on Tuesday.

Named the Kansas Field Conference, the tours are intended to give legislators and officials from the Kansas government an up-close and personal look at all aspects of the businesses that operate in the state, and the environments they operate in.

The Concordia tour was one of several visits the Field Conference took to rural areas.

"We want to educate legislators and other government officials on water issues and environmental issues that need to be addressed in the next legislative session," said Jeff Andersen, Secretary of the KDHE. "There are actions we can take to better the environment for the businesses that not only operate in it, but rely on it."
