Majority of new COVID-19 cases involve young adults

It was reported on Monday morning that two additional cases of COVID-19 had been reported in Cloud County.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Cloud County is now at 59. There have been 11 new cases of the virus reported in the past five days and 25 in the last month.
According to KNCK News, county health officials are reporting that many of the new cases involve young adults.
KNCK News reported that the Cloud County Health Department released a report on Monday that shows people under the age of 35 represent 72 percent of the cases reported in August. Of the 59 total cases, 38 of those individuals are under the age of 35. That is 64 percent.
Of the 17 cases reported since August 15, 16 of them are people between the ages of 18-34.
Cloud County has had one reported hospitalization, and the patient was between the ages of 25-34.
The recorded cases by ages are: 0-9 – 0 cases; 10-17 – 7 cases; 18-24 – 21 cases; 25-34 – 9 cases; 35-44 – 6 cases; 45-54 – 5 cases; 55-64 – 4 cases; 65-74 – 1 case; 75-84 – 2 cases; 85 and over – 3 cases.
The Health Department is working to identify any close contacts of the individuals and those who were exposed will be contacted as soon as possible.
Health Department administrator Brandi Bray reported to the county board of commissioners on Monday that there are a number of high school and college students currently in quarantine.
