T-Birds dominate York, 7-0

Coming off of two road losses to open the season, the Cloud County Community College men's soccer team dominated York College 7-0 in its first home match on Wednesday.
Cloud County suffered losses to two ranked teams, Snow (Utah) College and Laramie County (Wyo.) Community College to open the season.
The Thunderbirds, despite playing without four starters, converted on seven of its 20 shots on goal in the lopsided win over York.
“That was a freshman dominated lineup. It was neat to see them step up and play,” Cloud County coach Charles Long said, “The kids were knocking the ball around, creating opportunities and putting the ball in the net.”
Freshman forward Jelldrik Dallmann had one goal and three assists in the win for the T-Birds.
“I think he will be a force this year if he keeps up that work rate,” Long said of Dallmann.
Cloud County's first goal was scored by sophomore Lucas Lyra, off an assist by Dallmann, in the 12th minute.
Just three minutes later Dallmann assisted on a goal scored by freshman Heitor Moreira.
A goal by freshman Felipe D'Agostini, with an assist by Dallmann in the 26th minute made it 3-0.
Freshman Yves Oliveira scored in the 44th minute to give Cloud County a 4-0 halftime cushion. Lucas Castro got the assist.
Dallmann scored his goal in the 64th minute, off an assist from Lyra to make it 5-0.
Sophomore Thomas Santos tacked on an unassisted goal in the 88th minute, and Cloud County led 6-0.
The T-Birds' final goal was scored by Oliveira in the 89th minute.
“Coming off of two tough road losses, it was good to get a win,” Long said.
The T-Birds finished with 35 shots, 20 on goal.
Igor Da Silva was in goal for Cloud County, and recorded the shutout.
Women
Sophomore Izabella Christiana Mine scored four goals to lead the Cloud County women to a 6-1 victory over York.
The women were also coming off losses to Snow College and Laramie County.
Mine scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the match.
A unassisted goal by Mine in the third minute put the T-Birds on top to stay.
Mine scored again in the fifth minute off an assist from freshman Isabella Bertossi.
A third goal by Mine in the ninth minute put Cloud County on top 3-0. Freshman Maria dos Anjos Acassia got the assist.
Sophomore Aroa Nieto scored in the 15th minute, off an assist by Acassia, to extend the lead to 4-0.
Mine's fourth goal, unassisted, came 10 minutes into the second half.
“She is playing very well. She could have scored way more,” Long said of Mine.
York scored its lone goal in the 47th minute.
A goal by Bertossi in the 69th minute put the T-Birds up 6-1. Sophomore Mariana Lima got the assist.
Cloud County had 35 shots, 19 on goal.
The Cloud County women will host the Doane University junior varsity at 4 p.m. Friday.
The T-Bird men will play Bethel College at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harold M. Clark Stadium.
