Threat leads to shutdown of Walmart

A criminal threat shut down the Concordia Walmart store for about two hours on Monday.
According to a release from the Concordia Police Department, at 12:02 p.m. police officers, along with deputies from the Cloud County Sheriff's Office, and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a criminal threat from a subject stating they were going to take a gun to Walmart.
Law enforcement officials were able to quickly and safely evacuate the building while the threat was investigated.
After the area was secured and a thorough search of the building was completed, Walmart was allowed to reopen at around 2 p.m. without incident.
There is an ongoing investigation into the incident and no further information will be released at this time.
The Concordia Police Department would like to thank the public for its assistance in quickly evacuating the store and would like to extend its thanks to the Cloud County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol for their assistance in keeping the community safe.
