Traffic stop leads to arrest

A traffic stop conducted by a Cloud County Sheriff's Office deputy on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of two Salina residents on drug related charges.
According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of East Second Street for a traffic violation at about 2:50 p.m.
During the traffic stop, the Sheriff's Office K9 was used resulting in a positive alert on the vehicle which led to the arrest of Timothy Stegeman, Salina, and Rebecca Wheeler, Salina.
Wheeler was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and was also arrested on a Salina Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear.
Stegeman was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and was also arrested on a Saline County District Court warrant for probation violation.
Wheeler and Stegeman were transported to the Cloud County Law Enforcement Center.
