VIP Majestic 4 reopens after being shut down by pandemic

The VIP Majestic 4 theater has reopened.
After an extended shutdown due to COVID-19 and the state's modified reopening phases, movie theaters were among the last businesses allowed to open their doors.
"It was painful," said Mike Allen, the manager of the VIP Majestic 4. "I've been here 14 years, and I never had to close before. I always view the theater as an integral part of our town - something for everybody to enjoy. And to not have that was... different."
The theater will open on a limited scale because of the Health Order guidelines currently in place, and because there just aren't any new movies available for theaters to show.
"There are no new movies coming out in June," Allen said, "so we're very limited in what we're able to offer."
The theater is currently showing three films: 'The Invisible Man,' 'I Still Believe,' and 'Trolls World Tour.'
The 'Invisible Man,' starring Elisabeth Moss of 'Mad Men' and 'The Handmaid's Tale' fame, is a science fiction horror movie rated R.
'I Still Believe' is a faith-based romance-drama based on the real life of American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter Jeremy Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer shortly before they married.
'Trolls World Tour' is a computer-animated musical for kids produced by DreamWorks Animation. This is the sequel to the very popular 2016 'Trolls,' a movie about small, colorful creatures who live in an almost perpetual state of happiness and love to sing, dance, hug, and have fun all day.
The VIP Majestic 4 will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and all tickets are only $3.99 for any show, any day, through the month of June.
Per state guidelines, theater staff thoroughly cleans and disinfects the facility. Social distancing is in effect, with seating for patrons in every other row, and three seats apart. Patrons are encouraged to wear masks if they so desire.
"We want to be open so people know we're still here," Allen said. "We have no plans on closing. Every single one of my staff was willing to come back. I'm just super excited to be able to give people the movie theater experience again."
