CARL "SAM" NELSON

Carl “Sam” Nelson, age 82, died Wed., May 29, 2019, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS.  He was born on January 30, 1937, in Concordia, to Edwin O. & Frances (Parson) Nelson.

Carl attended Gotland Grade School and graduated from Concordia High School in 1956.  He married Regina Cote on March 12, 1971, at The Baptist Church, Concordia. He worked for the Cloud County Highway Dept. for over 50 years, retiring in 2006.  He was a member of The Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Regina, Concordia; daughter, Carla Honeycutt (Joe), South Hutchinson; son, Brian Nelson (Pamela), Mission; grandchildren, Aaron & Austin Honeycutt; brother, Darrell (Mary Dean), Concordia; sister, Ramona Dibley, Modesto, CA & sisters-in-law, Norma Nelson, Washington & Anita Nelson, Concordia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LaVerne & Elden Nelson; sisters, Arlene Fredrickson & Leola Doyen.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tues., June 4, 2019, at The Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Peppers officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.  Visitation will be Mon., June 3, 2019, from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to The Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
