ERIC “RICK” YARNELL

Eric (Rick) David Yarnell was born August 1, 1952, to Eugene and Berna (Chartier) Yarnell. Eric grew up in Concordia, Kan., graduating from Concordia High School in 1970. After graduating high school, Eric worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Montana. He attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan., where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Engineering in 1974. He was employed by Eby and owned Yarnell Construction. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Yarnell; brothers, Bruce and Douglas Yarnell; niece, Brandy Menzel; uncles, Donald Yarnell and Sid Chartier; and aunt, Melba Chartier. He is survived by his wife, Opal Yarnell; mother, Berna Gable; daughters, Angela (Donald) Zysk, Robynn (Stephen) Combs; son, Jonathan Yarnell; sisters, Jeannette Davenport (Joel), Jayne Hermes (Dale); brother, Patrick Yarnell; an aunt, Anita Chartier; 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at New Haven Church, 8714 Antioch, Overland Park, Kan. Burial in Clyde, Kan., at a later date.
