FLOYD J. DAY

Floyd J. Day, age 91, entered into rest on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Atria Del Rey Senior Living in Rancho Cucamonga, California.  He was born on May 30, 1927 in Concordia, Kansas to Floyd W. and Hazel Josephine (Avery) Day.  He was a 1945 graduate of Concordia High School.  Floyd married Faith V. Noah on April 27, 1947 in Concordia, Kansas.  She preceded him in death on September 24, 2003.
 In his younger years Floyd was in the Army/Air Force, held a private pilot license and liked to hunt.  Anyone who knew Floyd could say his real passion was golf.   If there had been lights on the course, he would have golfed at night.  He had 7 holes-in-one in his lifetime.    He and Faith retired in Jamestown, North Dakota where he golfed, gave golf lessons, repaired golf clubs for friends.  He was adept at refinishing antique furniture and loved watching all kinds of sports on TV.   His favorite meal was a cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate malt.  His life work was in the food and entertainment industry.  He started that work as a co-owner of the Nifty Cafe in Concordia, KS.  Later he managed the Elks Club in Concordia, KS, Yankton, SD, Aberdeen, SD, and Jamestown, ND.  He also managed a Country Club in Wichita Falls, TX and Moccasin Creek Country Club, Aberdeen, SD.  Floyd was a lifetime member of the Elks Organization.   He was an honorary member of the Jamestown Elks Lodge 995 Past Exalted Rulers Association.  He was an active member of the Jamestown Country Club.Survivors include his four children, Steve Day, Gillette, WY;  Nancy Day (Bob Bentley), Newton, KS;  Patricia Day-Hanson (Brent); Jeff Day (Judi), Elburn, IL),five grandchildren (Brandon, Spencer, Sydne, Joe, and Aubrey), six great grandchildren ( Caitlyn, Andrew, Greyson, Addy, Issac, and Monroe).Floyd was preceded in death by his Wife, Faith V. Noah, his sister, Dorothy Alaimo, and 2 brothers, James & Donald, his parents, Floyd and Hazel Day.
 Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia, Kansas, with Rev.
