FREDERICK LYNN STEGMAIER

Frederick Lynn Stegmaier, age 77, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.  He was born Feb. 22, 1942, in Rural Jamestown, Kansas, to Fred and Alice (Webb) Stegmaier.

Fred was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School.  He served 20 years in the United States Navy from 1961-1981 and during the Vietnam War.  

He married Clara Parsons on December 15, 1963, in Belleville, Kansas.  She preceded him in death on May 27, 1993.  Fred & Clara operated Lester’s Sweet Shop in downtown Concordia for 10 years.

He was a member of the local American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588 and Masonic Lodge, all of Concordia.

Fred is survived by his 2 sons, Earl Stegmaier (Elizabeth), Salina & Eddy Stegmaier, Jamestown; 2 sisters, Mary Lawrence, New Eppswich, NH & Kathie Indorf (George), Edwardsville; 2 brothers, Kenneth Stegmaier, Beloit & Ronnie Stegmaier, Salina & grandchildren, Hayden & Kieran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; an infant daughter, Shannon M. Stegmaier; his parents & a brother, Dale.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wed., May 15, 2019, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas, with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.  Burial will follow at Jamestown Cemetery with Military honors conducted by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588.  Visitation will be Tues., May 14, 2019, from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m., all at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to the Jamestown Community Center in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
