Jane M. Christensen

Jane M. Christensen, 73, of Concordia, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Her friendliness to all and compassion for those in need will always be remembered. Her last years were clouded by dementia but her strong spirit and love of God and her children kept her alive. She was born in Concordia, Kansas, on August 13, 1947, to John E. & Lillian M. (L’Ecuyer) McConahey.
Jane was a 1965 graduate of Concordia High School. She attended Marymount College in Salina, Kansas, for two years and attended the University of Kansas for one year.
She married Keith E. Christensen on August 3, 1968, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas. Keith and Jane made their home in Concordia and she was a homemaker.
Her memberships included Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, women’s Aglow, Catholic Daughters of America, V.F.W. Women’s Aux., Cloud County Health Center Aux., and was an Associate member of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Jane loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband Keith E. Christensen; her sister, Mary Ann (Kevin) Foley of Coronado, Calif.; and her seven children and 17 grandchildren: daughter, Erin (Chris) Behrens of Lincoln, Kan. & their children, Christopher, Grace, Cody, Tyler and Lily; son, Travis (Michelle) Christensen of Milton,  Fla. & their children, Krystin, Taylor Shawn, Elizabeth and Brooke; son, Kevin Christensen of Salina, Kan. & children, Alexander and Isabelle; daughter, Julie Christensen of Salina, Kan.; son, John (Kendra) Christensen of Concordia, Kan. & their children, Tessa, Olivia, Rylan and Nolan; son, Austin (Kalie) Christensen of Salina, Kan. & their children, Aurora, Sophie and Kasen; and daughter, Katie Christensen of Salina, Kan.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, with Fr. David Metz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. and family greeting from 6-8 p.m. and Vigil services at 6:30 p.m., all on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
