JAYNE JOAN HOLECHEK

Jayne Joan Holechek, 62, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019. She will be fondly remembered by her family, many friends, and numerous church family members. Some of Jayne’s favorite pastimes included cheering on the K-State Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, crocheting projects for friends and family, creating new recipes, hosting holiday gatherings, and playing with her beloved dogs.
Jayne loved to care for others and was especially encouraging to church friends and family. She was a member of United Methodist Church of the Cross in Salina and taught preschool at Angel Academy Preschool there. Later, she worked as a paraeducator in special education at Whittier-Bartlett and Cottonwood Elementary School. When not working and into retirement, Jayne enjoyed listening to music and finding new artists to share. She always tuned in to Cross Points Church out of Shawnee, Kan., where she loved to listen to son-in-law Dru lead worship.
Jayne is survived by: her husband, Daryl Holechek of Salina; daughter, Morgan Davis (Dru) of Kansas City; mother, Shirley (Newell) Henthorn; brothers, Mike and Matt Henthorn; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by: her father, Robert Henthorn; and sister, Terri Green.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at United Methodist Church of the Cross, with inurnment at 2 p.m. in Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Concordia.
