JOAN A. MORGAN

Joan A. Morgan, age 87, left this earthly life on Thursday, November 29 at Mt. Joseph Senior Community, Concordia, Kansas. She was born on April 23, 1931 in Jamestown, KS to Hubert P. & Ruth E. (Nelson) Spear.
Joan was a 1947 graduate of Belleville High school. Joan worked for Fairmont Creamery in Concordia. She married Lyle L. Morgan on June 9, 1951 at Camp Attebury, Indiana. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2017. She was a homemaker and farm wife. Joan was active in the HDU, 4-H, School & Conservation Board, Cloud County Historical Society and Optimist Club, Trinity UMC, and taught Sunday school for many years.
She loved gardening and flowers, sewing, cooking and had the honor of teaching many 4-H girls how to bake bread.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Shunn (Marvin), Concordia & Cathy Spangler (Calvin), Abilene; 2 grandsons, Lee Dunlap (Erika), Wamego & Duncan Spangler, Abilene; 2 great-grandsons, Sabre Dunlap, Deshler, NE & Brandon Dunlap, Seward, NE; sister, Sharon Kay Isaacson, Safford, AZ; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mark and Dorothy Morgan, Concordia; and several nieces & nephews & a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents Hubert and Ruth, in-laws, Merle and Irene VanLaningham, Lee and Pauline Slusser.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 1 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Concordia, with Pastor Bob Burns and Pastor Scott Tempero officiating. Burial will follow at Hollis Cemetery, Hollis, KS. Visitation will be Friday, November30 from 1-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. all at the funeral home.
