Lois Faye Stone, age 96, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas. She was born on December 25, 1922, in Gaylord, Kan., to Frederick Charles and Otha Faye (Fletcher) Mugridge.
She was a graduate of Gaylord High School. She attended Brown Mackie College, Salina, Kansas.
Lois married H.R. Stone in Lindsborg, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
Lois was the office assistant for her husband Dr. H.R. Stone in Garden City, Kansas. She also worked in the clerical department at the Convent.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hospital Auxiliary and a lifetime member of  V.F.W. Post #588 Ladies Auxiliary, all of Concordia.
Lois enjoyed gardening, crocheting and making afghans and blankets for her family and friends; most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her nephew, Vince Bombardier (Janette), Bonner Springs, Kan.; niece, Linda West (Stephen), Colwich, Kan.; many nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. H.R. Stone, parents, a sister, Ruth Bombardier; 2 brothers, Paul and Carl Mugridge; niece, Paula Haworth.
There will be no visitation.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Concordia, with Pastor Melanie Adams officiating.
Burial of the cremains will be at a later time in the Gaylord Cemetery, Gaylord, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit
