ROBERT "BOB" M. CONDRAY

Robert “Bob” M. Condray, age 90, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Marquis Place Assisted Living, Concordia, Kansas. He was born on July 3, 1929, on a farm in rural Morganville, Kansas, to Myron and Meda (Hahn) Condray.
Bob was a 1948 graduate of rural Morganville High School. He then served in the Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict.
On October 12, 1952, he married Judy Ford and they later divorced.
Bob was a lifelong area resident & farmer in the Morganville and Clifton communities. In his earlier years he helped build the Gordon-Mark Elevator in Clay Center. He was involved in Custom Wheat Harvesting, and later worked for area farmers while renting farms. In 1960, Bob bought his first farm from Carl Nelson, who was his mentor in farming. He continued farming and was a stockman until his retirement in the mid 90’s. In 1979, he received the distinguished award of K-State Master Farmer.
Bob was an avid toy collector.  He met a lot of friends through his antique toy shows and antique car club. His toy collection consisted of cast iron and diecast toys. He fabricated and built 1/16 scale machinery in which he actually went out into the field and measured individual machinery. He was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in Dyersville, Iowa. He also started and managed the KC Toy and Doll Show for over 20 years.
He enjoyed traveling, ball room and western dancing, attending many toys shows around the country and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder. He served on the Washington County Farm Bureau Board and Clifton Farmer’s Cooperative Shipping Association Board and was a 4-H Club Leader and Project Leader in Clifton. He was also a member of Moose Lodge, Concordia and Elks Lodge of Clay Center.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Scott Condray (Mindy), Concordia, Kan., Kent Condray (Marian), Clifton, Kan.; 2 daughters, Robin Bednarek (Chuck), Leavenworth, Kan., Glee Jacobs (Marlin), Topeka, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Meda,; 2 sisters, Martha Bell Fowles, Dorothy Jean Condray.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas, with Pastor Al Paredes officiating. Burial will follow in the Idana Cemetery in Idana, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m.
