SHIRLEY ANN LEBLANC

Shirley Ann LeBlanc, age 75, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas. Shirley was born October 13, 1943 to Raymond Anthony and Thelma Faye (Dorman) Begnoche on a farm near St. Joseph, KS.
Shirley went to grade school in St. Joseph and was a 1961 graduate of Clyde High School.
On October 21, 1961 she married Larry Lee LeBlanc in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at St. Joseph. They farmed and raised their family in the St. Joseph community for many years. During this time, she was a farm wife and also operated the St. Joe Store. Larry preceded her in death on October 20, 1983.
On May 10, 1986 she married Isadore Kegle in Clay Center. They made their home on the family farm south of St. Joseph and later moved to Clyde. Isadore preceded her in death on March 6, 2007.
Shirley graduated from NCKAVTS Beloit Campus where she received her LPN Degree in Nursing and then she received her RN degree from Cloud County Community College. She was the Director of Nursing at the Belleville Health Care Center, and later the Director of Nursing at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde. Shirley then worked for 15 years as a Registered Nurse for the Kansas Department on Aging in Salina, before retiring.
Shirley was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, past member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Hobbies included playing cards, especially plute, pinochle, and bunco. Most of all Shirley enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and she cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, husband Isadore, parents Raymond and Thelma, a brother Jerry, sister Darlene Havel (Kenny), and grandson Stefan.
Shirley is survived by her children, Julie Chavey, (Mark), Merriam, KS.; Kevin LeBlanc (Renee), Manhattan, KS.; Kenton LeBlanc (Stephanie), Clyde, KS.; step-daughter, Stephanie Morris (Toby), Florence, S.C., step-son, Jon Kegle, Kauai, HI.; grandchildren, Ann Hett (Nickolas) and their children Ava & Grady, Brooke Miller (Bobby), son Mason, Courtney Hastings (Scott), Adam LeBlanc, significant other, Angela Gargaro, Rebecca LeBlanc, significant other, Ryan Barnes, Kollin LeBlanc, step-grandson, Christopher Kegle (Toni), children Eli and Everleigh, step-grandson, Brandon Morris, brother Dean Begnoche (Elaine), Clyde, KS.; nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 23 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., with a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., Friday evening at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde. Family will receive friends in the parish hall after the vigil service. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
