A Closer Walk

Does God see things the same way we do? Does He have the same perspective? "Thus says the Lord, 'Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool'..." Isaiah 66:1 NASB. Isaiah gives us the picture that God is in heaven above, and we are on earth below. On His footstool. Anyone who has been up in an airplane knows things look different from up there. Looking down gives us a more clear picture because the view is not blocked by trees, or buildings, etc.
Isaiah also tells us that there is a throne, and this throne is in Heaven, not down here on the footstool. Almighty God sits on this throne, in heaven. The writer of the book of Hebrews informs us that this throne is named The Throne Of Grace (Hebrews 4:11). The book of Hebrews also tells us to come boldly (KJV), or with confidence (NASB), to this throne. Why? So that we may find mercy and grace to help in time of need. Come boldly. Don't be hesitant about sharing what is on our hearts. We have the privilege of coming to Almighty God with any plan, any hope, any dream, or any request. Come with confidence. Be certain that our God in Heaven will answer (Jeremiah 33:3). Remember that He has a different perspective than we do, so His answers will always be the best answer, for our best good, in His own timing.
We can praise Him for being on His throne. He is God, and not us. There is no situation, no circumstance, no event where He sucks in breath, stumbles backward, and says, “Oh my goodness. What do I do now?” HE IS GOD. Do we grasp the significance of that? He is not a weak or puny small God. He is the Lord God Almighty. There is no power He is missing. There is no might that He lacks. He is the Lord God Almighty.
Because He works from His throne in heaven, He has a much different perspective, or a different vision. He doesn't necessarily see things the same way we do. In addition, He knows what He needs to do to accomplish His will and plan. He knows what things need to be arranged or put in place. He knows what people He will choose to work with and include to carry out His plan. So the question becomes, are we ready? Are we ready to be used by our Father in Heaven? Are we willing to be included in the work of carrying out His plan?
It is both an honor and a privilege to be chosen by our God to accomplish His will, and work out His plan. Why would He choose small insignificant us to involve in, and help to carry out, His wonderful and amazing plan? Why indeed. He doesn't need us. Remember that whole creation thing? You know, start with nothing and create the earth and all it contains (and the universe as well)? Who helped Him do that? No one or nothing else existed to help. It was all Him.
For reasons we don't understand Almighty God chooses to involve us and use us to do His work and carry out His plan. You know, down here here on His footstool. Are we willing?
