Dear editor,
Memorial Day is the last Monday in May. This year that is May 25.
Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember and honor those men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. Military. On this day we do so by visiting cemeteries, decorating the graves with flowers, holding memorial services, praying for those dead and wearing a red poppy.
Here in Concordia the Avenue of Flags Committee's plan for Memorial Day is to raise 200 flags at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Because of COVID-19, we will not have a memorial service this year. However, everyone can remember, honor and thank those who have served and those who have given their lives for our country.
Maybe visit the Avenue of Flags at Pleasant Hill Cemetery May 25. Thank you.
