Letter to the Editor 5-24

Dear editor,
I have been overwhelmed by the response of the community in the wake of the shocking news of the sudden loss of my wife, Dana Nelson, AKA Mrs. Nelson. Mere words do not seem adequate to express what I have experienced this past week, nor are they adequate to express my deep gratitude to you all. The outpouring of love that has been lavished on me and Dana's family have been remarkable, literally! Friends and extended family members who were here this past week to honor and remember her were absolutely stunned as they witnessed the community-wide expression of care and support. It was obvious that this has been a blow to the entire community. Her presence was so interwoven into its very fabric, as recently she informed me that she was now teaching grandchildren of those who were in her first classes.
As I have been so blessed and comforted by the condolences of you all, I wish to extend my sincere sympathies to all of you who were deeply affected by this loss as well. My sincere thanks also to the MANY who walked with me through this unimaginable time. I will not single out any for fear of leaving someone unnamed, but again, I am at a loss for words to express my appreciation.
Overwhelmed and Humbled,
Steve Nelson
