Concordia Fire Department were called to Broadway Street when a small car driven by Mrs. Don Kerr backfired and caught fire... Concordia High School senior John W. Pilcher, Jr. received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado... CHS senior Darrel Appleby signed a letter of intent to attend Cloud County Community Junior College... Mrs. Thomas Campbell, Mrs. James Coppoc, Mrs. Wayne Spangler, Mrs. Devine Montoya and Mrs. David Wilson were hostesses when Faculty Wives had a picnic in City Park.

In an attempt to raise awareness about homelessness, some Concordia High School students spent the night in cardboard boxes at the Cloud County Fairgrounds... Concordia Junior High School students Lori Rittel and Jana Williams were members of the Volleytech Ice USVBA Junior Olympic Volleyball team that won a 40-team tournament in Lee's Summit, MO...  Sarah Cairns, Cassandra Carter and Gena Kearns, members of Girls Scouts of Cadette Girls Scout Troop 891, earned Silver Awards in a ceremony at the Brown Grand Theater.

Dave Lesperance was named president of SNB Bank of Kansas... wheat was selling at $5.58, corn was $3.59, and milo was $3.38 per bushel on local markets.

Steve and Abbie (Meats) Hanson announced the birth of their daughter, Avamarie Beth... Skyler Hittle, a state champion and three-time state placer for the Concordia High School wrestling team, signed a letter of intent with Ft. Hays State University... wheat was selling at $7.85, corn was $4.72, and milo was $4.62 per bushel on local markets.

The POW Camp Concordia hosted a VE Day Celebration in honor of the Victory in Europe (VE) Day which occurred on May 8th, 1945... the Common Grounds coffee house held its first ever Open Mic night... participants in the Frontier Hog Ride from Lincoln, NE, to Wichita made a stop in Concordia...  wheat was selling at $4.75, corn was $3.46 and milo was $3.31 per bushel on local markets.
