The Dance Company competes in Bravo National

WICHITA — Members of The Dance Company of Clay Center, Concordia and Beloit recently participated in the Bravo National Dance Competition and VIP Dance Challenge.
The Dance Company team placed in the top 10 with several routines and also received top 10 special Judges Awards.
“Beetlejuice,” a musical theater routine, received an award for Commitment to the Roles.
Jalyn Kasper, received a Choreography Award for “New York is Killing Me.”
The hip hop routine received the Entertainment Award at Bravo. At the VIP Dance Challenge it was recognized with the Entertainment Award for the production number “Saturday in the Park.”
Keri Farmer was awarded a special judges recognition in both events, including the Contemporary Award and the Judges Choice.
Kylee Shivers received an award for Musicality.
Raegen Marshall was recognized for strength and control in her acrobatic style routine.
Hayden Hackworth received the Costume Award.
The Hip Hop Award was presented to the group for “Miss Independent.”
Marshall was awarded a scholarship to the Inaside Summer Conservatory in Chicago.
The Dance Company team competed in both large group and small group categories plus several solos.
The Novice Team placed in the top five in both events.
Teams are made up of dancers in grades 2-12 from all over the area.
The next event is the Star Systems Talent in Kansas City. There will be spring recitals in April and May.
