Melanie Hepperly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hepperly and a freshman at Kansas State University, was tapped for “Spurs,” the sophomore women's honorary on-campus organization... Mr. and Mrs. Mel Horkman hosted the '68 Pitch Club at their home, with Miss Janie Ackerman and Wayne Ketterer as guests... Gleem toothpaste was 53 cents at Gibson's.

M&N Iron & Metal donated $600, raised through the recycling of aluminum cans, to the Concordia Gymnastic Center to be used for the purchase of equipment... the Concordia High School number two doubles team of Brandt Hutchinson and Jay Johnson placed first in a tennis tournament hosted by the Panthers... Patricia Hanson of Leah #182 was elected and installed as Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Kansas, Order of the Eastern Star.
