American Legion, Co-op win
Concordia Recreation Girls' Softball play kicked off Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex with the American Legion and Cloud County Co-op posting victories.
The American Legion downed Subway, 13-4.
Cloud County Co-op pounded out a 19-9 win over Funk Pharmacy.
Scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning, the American Legion never trailed against Subway.
Subway made it a 3-1 game with a run in the top of the second inning.
Three runs in the bottom of the second gave the American Legion a 6-1 cushion.
Subway tacked on one run in the top of the third inning.
The American Legion put up five runs in the bottom of the third, and led 11-2.
Subway scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning.
The American Legion answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Nevaeh Valcoure did the pitching for the American Legion. She also had two hits and scored three runs.
Mariah Almanza homered and scored three runs in the win.
Kynlee Hamiel and Abbigale Peterson scored two runs each.
