CCCC men drop Hesston

HESSTON — Jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, the Cloud County Community College men's soccer team notched a 4-0 victory over Hesston College in a Jayhawk Conference West Division matchup on Saturday..
Cloud County, coming off a 2-1 home loss to Barton Community College that snapped a five-game winning streak, improved to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play with the win.
Hesston falls to 1-8-1 overall and 0-6 in the conference with a second shutout loss to Cloud County this season.
Cloud County broke a scoreless tie when Djougher Oliveira scored, off an assist from Jean-Pierre Dasylva, with 25:11 remaining in the first half.
With just over nine minutes remaining in the half, freshman Jackson Brown scored his first career goal for the Thunderbirds. Wanes Hobat picked up the assist.
Cloud County would stretch the lead to 30 on a goal by Manuel Marquez with 2:37 left in the first half.
The T-Birds made it 5-0 with just over 11 minutes gone by in the second half when Caio Faro took a pass from Feliphe Pasetto de Souza and scored.
Cloud County had 24 shots in the match to just two for Hesston.
Sophomore goalkeeper Charles Albuquerque recorded his fifth shutout of the season.
