CCCC wrestlers go 0-4 in Desert Duals

LAS VEGAS — The Cloud County Community College wrestling team suffered four dual losses in the Desert Duals, hosted by Wartburg University, at the Sunset Ballroom in the Flamingo Hotel on Sunday.
Cloud County opened with a 34-13 loss to Arizona Christian University.
Blayne Harris, 125 pounds, gave the Thunderbirds an early 4-0 lead by defeating Oscar Sepulveda, 9-1.
Blake Leiszler then pinned Arizona Christian's Evan Janson in 2:36.
Arizona Christian won seven of the final eight matches.
Cloud County had Dante Harper, 174 pounds, defeat Rylan Larko, 8-3.
The T-Birds fell 29-20 to Simon Fraser University.
Harris and Albert Werden, 133 pounds, won by forfeit for Cloud County.
Simon Fraser picked up wins in the next five matches.
Cloud County's Quentin Jiner won a 10-5 decision over Doug Peyser in the 184-pound class.
Kevin Murry, 197 pounds, defeated Simon Fraser's Connor Pattison, 19-0.
Cloud County was shut out by Upper Iowa University, the fifth-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
Life Pacific University downed the T-Birds, 32-20.
Harris, who finished 3-1, defeated Robert Pinto.
Life Pacific recorded wins in the next five matches.
Harper; Micah Sterling, 184 pounds; and Murry won by forfeit for Cloud County.
The T-Birds are off until January 10-11 when they will compete in the NJCAA Coaches Duals at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
