Chapman defeats Panthers in tourney

CHAPMAN — Unable to overcome a slow start, the Concordia eighth grade girls' basketball team lost 39-11 to Chapman in the opening round of the North Central Kansas League Tournament Monday night.
Chapman jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the first quarter.
Concordia was shut out in the second period, and Chapman scored 10 points to go up 21-4 at halftime.
Chapman doubled up the Panthers 12-6 in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 33-10.
Concordia scored five points in the final period, to six for Chapman.
Cianna DeLeon led Concordia with eight points.
