Chevrolet/Buick downs American Legion, 4-1

Jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings, Concordia Chevrolet/Buick held on to defeat the American Legion 4-1 in Peewee Baseball play Monday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Deekon Holbert hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to put Chevrolet/Buick on top to stay.
Chevrolet/Buick tacked on two runs in the second inning to make it a 4-0 game.
Shut out through the first four innings, the American Legion scored its only run in the top of the fifth.
Boone Richard scored two runs for Chevrolet/Buick.
In the other game played Monday night, the Lions used a big third inning to down the Knights of Columbus, 17-1.
Two runs in the first inning and one in the top of the second gave the Lions a 3-0 lead.
Drake Blochlinger led off the top of the first with a home run.
The Knights of Columbus made it 3-1 with a run in the bottom of the second.
Sending 12 batters to the plate, the Lions racked up 10 runs in the top of the third inning to blow the game open.
The Lions added four runs in the fourth inning.
Blochlinger scored three runs for the Lions.
