Chevrolet/Buick downs Pike Valley, 14-4

BELOIT — Concordia Chevrolet/Buick used a big third inning to pull away to a 14-4 victory over Pike Valley in the semifinals of the Peewee Baseball District Tournament Thursday night.
With the win, Chevrolet/Buick moves into the title game, and will play the Beloit Crush tonight.
Pike Valley plays the Beloit Mauraders in the third-place game.
The top three teams qualify for the state tournament to be played next week in Concordia.
Chevrolet/Buick took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning in the semifinal game.
Baylor Knox singled and scored in the inning.
Boone Richard and Kale Schroeder each walked and scored and Drew Sterrett reached base on an error and scored.
Pike Valley closed the gap to 4-3 with three runs on one hit, two walks and two hit batters in the top of the second inning.
Sending 11 batters to the plate, Chevrolet/Buick broke the game open with six runs in the bottom of the third inning that made it a 10-3 game.
Deekon Holbert and Joe Berk singled and scored in the inning.
Richard, Sterrett, Schroeder and Andrew Henderson walked and scored.
Pike Valley made it a 10-4 game with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
Scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth, Chevrolet/Buick ended the game because of the 10-run rule.
Knox, Richard and Berk singled and scored for Chevrolet/Buick.
Holbert walked and scored a run.
Schroeder pitched the first three innings for Chevrolet/Buick. Knox worked the fourth inning.
Knox had two hits and scored two runs.
Berk had two hits.
Richard scored three runs.
