Chevrolet/Buick, Lions win openers

Concordia Chevrolet/Buick and the Lions posted wins on the opening night of Peewee Baseball play Monday at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Racking up 11 runs in the first and third innings combined, Chevrolet/Buick knocked off the Knights of Columbus 13-3.
The Lions downed the American Legion, 7-1.
Chevrolet/Buick, trailing 1-0, pushed across six runs in the bottom of the second inning to go on top to stay, 6-1.
The Knights of Columbus made it a 6-2 game with a run in the top of the second inning.
Two runs in the bottom of the second game gave Chevrolet/Buick an 8-2 advantage.
The Knights of Columbus added one run in the top of the third inning.
Chevrolet/Buick pushed the lead to 13-3 with five runs in the bottom of the third.
Kale Schroeder scored three runs for Chevrolet/Buick. Boone Richard, Deekon Holbert and Warric Eakins scored two runs each.
Macon Farha scored two runs for the Knights of Columbus.
The Lions got out to a 2-0 lead on the American Legion in the top of the first inning and would not trail in the season opener.
Tacking on two runs in the top of the second inning, the Lions led 4-0.
The Lions added three runs in the top of the fourth inning to go up 7-0.
The American Legion scored its only run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Logan Jackson did the pitching for the Lions.
Drake Blochlinger and Maxson Frey scored two runs each for the Lions.
