CHS girls place fifth in league meet

CLAY CENTER — Getting a first-place finish by Emma Wahlmeier in the 400-meter dash, the Concordia High School girls' track and field team placed fifth in the North Central Kansas League meet on Friday.
Concordia scored 61 points in the meet.
Wamego captured the team title with 137 points. Abilene was second with 110 and Marysville was third with 109.
The Concordia boys finished sixth in the meet with 24 points.
Wamego won the meet with 164 points. Abilene was second with 119.5 and Chapman was third with 102.5.
Wahlmeier turned in a time of 1:00.84 to win the 400 for Concordia. She was also fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.64).
Sierra Gropp placed third in the 100 (13.53) and in the 200 (27.46).
Gropp and Wahlmeier teamed up with Katlynn Miller and Zoe Bechard to place third in the 4x100 relay (52.70).
Wahlmeier, Gropp, Bechard and Ava Swihart finished fourth in the 4x400 relay (4:24.71).
Concordia had Chloe Conway place fourth in the high jump (4-10). Swihart was fifth (4-10) and Jara Nordell was sixth (4-8).
Karlee Wahlmeier finished fourth in the shot put (32-5 ¼) and Angelica Hale was fifth (32-1/4).
Miller placed fifth in the triple jump (32-6 ¾) and sixth in the long jump (14-7 ¾).
Bechard was sixth in the triple jump (32-1 ¾).
Terin Rundus placed fifth in the javelin (109-9) and sixth in the 800-meter run (2:39.66).
Teggan Workman was sixth in the javelin (100-4) and Jordan Gilkeson was fifth in the 800 (2:39.47).
Terryl Loeffler finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.34).
The Concordia boys had Cav Carlgren place third in the high jump (5-8).
Alex Bonebrake finished fourth in the discus (122-2) and sixth in the shot put (41-9 ¾).
Oakley Champlin was fifth in the discus (1192 ½).
Keyan Miller placed fifth in the 100 dash (11.92) and in the 200 (24.06).
Concordia's 4x100 relay team of Miller, Drake Revell, Kyle Palmquist and Dylan Thoman finished fifth (46.23).
Thoman, Palmquist, Champlin and Dalton Long placed fifth in the 4x400 (3:46.02).
Carlgren, Alexis Garcia, Sajen Kemling and Austin Killian finished fifth in the 4x800 (9:29.45).
Cade Anderson was sixth in the pole vault (10-7).
The Concordia boys and girls will compete in the Class 3A regional meet in Scott City on Friday.
