CHS goes 2-2 in tourney

SABETHA — The Concordia High School volleyball team, wrapping up its regular season, went 2-2 at the Sabetha Invitational on Saturday.
Concordia was beaten in straight sets by Nemaha Central, ranked seventh in Class 3A, 25-23, 25-18.
Chloe Conway and Taegen Larsen had six kills each for Concordia.
Terryl Loeffler added five kills.
Kendall Reynolds had 45 good sets in 45 attempts with 17 assists and six digs.
The Panthers dropped the first set to Atchison County, 25-22. They won the next two sets, 25-20, 25-14.
Conway had 16 service points.
Reynolds and Shaina Wright had nine service points each, and Katlynn Miller added six.
St. Mary's defeated Concordia in three sets.
The Panthers won the first set, 25-13, but dropped the next two, 25-16, 25-20.
Conway finished with eight kills.
Larsen had six kills and Loeffler had five.
Miller had seven service points and Wright had five.
Concordia capped off pool play with a 25-14, 25-12 win over Hiawatha.
Conway had four kills and Loeffler had three.
Zoe Bechard had seven service points and Wright had six.
The Panthers did not advance to bracket play.
Nemaha Central defeated Holton in the championship match and St. Mary's downed Marysville in the third-place match.
Concordia, now 21-15, will play in the Class 3A sub-state tournament in Phillipsburg on Saturday.
Also competing in the sub-state will be Beloit, Colby, Thomas More Prep-Marian, Minneapolis, Norton, Phillipsburg and Russell.
