CHS has four wrestlers place first

CLEARWATER — Four Concordia High School wrestlers captured first-place finishes in the Clearwater Invitational on Saturday.
Logan Leiszler, 106 pounds; Sajen Kemling, 113 pounds; Koby Tyler, 120 pounds; and Hunter Schroeder, 182 pounds, placed first in the tournament for Concordia.
The Panthers finished third as a team with 207 points.
Pratt claimed the team title with 264.5 points and Mulvane was second with 232.5.
Leiszler won all four of his matches by fall. He pinned Maddox Riffey, Pratt, in 1:18; Austin Kreutzer, Nickerson, in 52 seconds; Elle Vinson, El Dorado, in 49 seconds; and Kaydon Moffett, Mulvane, in 57 seconds.
Kemling recorded two wins on his way to placing first. He pinned Cash Henning, Rose Hill, in 59 seconds and pinned Dalton Weber, Pratt.
Tyler was 3-0 in the tournament. He won an 8-1 decision over Gavin Moore, Nickerson; pinned Javin Hughes, El Dorado, in 1:00; and then defeated Boeden Whitted, Rose Hill, 9-7.
Schroeder picked up five consecutive wins, four by fall, to finish first. He pinned Trent Wills, Wichita Trinity, in 51 seconds; pinned Alec Beasley, Clearwater; pinned Derrick Lowe, Wellington, in 1:50; pinned Tommy Rogers, Rose Hill, in 41 seconds; and won a 13-10 decision over Iziah Cook, Pratt.
Concordia had Torxsten Kindel, 126 pounds; Daniel Vines, 132 pounds; Keyan Miller, 170 pounds; and Dalton Owen, 285 pounds, place third in the tournament.
Kindel lost by fall to Devon Weber, Pratt. He pinned Koltyn Giles, Nickerson, and then pinned Bella Wemil, El Dorado, in 18 seconds to go 3-0 in his pool.
Hunter Dietrich, Mulvane, pinned Kindel in the semifinals.
Kindel then won a 5-2 decision over EJ Krug, El Dorado, in the third-place match.
Vines pinned Chase Koehler, Wellington, in 54 seconds; pinned Jett Roberts, El Dorado; and lost by fall to Chadwick Stahl, Mulvane. He then pinned Charlie Black, Rose Hill, in the match for third place.
Miller won his two matches in his pool by pinning Andy Huynh, Mulvane, in 1:55 and winning an 8-5 decision over Cade Evans, Rose Hill. He lost 5-2 to Bryce Winsor, Pratt, in the semifinals, and then pinned Greg Holcomb, Wellington, in the third-place match.
Owen won by medical forfeit over Hagen Wright, Wellington. He lost by fall to Jesus Omelas, Pratt, and then pinned Sam Logan, Nickerson, in 1:30.
Nathan Brown finished fourth in the 160-pound class for Concordia.
Brown went 1-1 in his pool. He pinned Bryson Snell, Clearwater, in 17 seconds, and lost by fall to Pierce Proasco, Rose Hill.
Chris Dietrich, Mulvane, pinned Brown in the semifinals.
Brown lost by fall to Zachary Lamatsch, Pratt, in the third-place match.
Concordia had Easton Swihart finish fifth in the 145-pound class.
Swihart lost by fall to Trenton Davis, Mulvane, and to Ke'rel Thompson, Pratt. He pinned Gunner Owens, El Dorado.
After pinning Anthony Rooney, Clearwater, Swihart won a 15-11 decision over Ethan Penner, Wichita Trinity, in the fifth-place match.
Concordia will host Abilene in a North Central Kansas League dual on Thursday.
