CJHS teams compete in Clay Center

CLAY CENTER — The Concordia Junior High School track and field teams competed in the Clay Center Middle School Invitational on Tuesday.
The Concordia eighth grade boys scored 83.5 points to place fourth in the meet.
Scoring 90.5 points, the Concordia eighth grade girls finished second.
Concordia was seventh in the seventh grade boys' division with 39 points.
The Concordia seventh grade girls were fourth with 77 points.
Alec Francis and Aceyn Cash recorded first-place finishes for the Concordia eighth grade boys.
Francis finished first in the 100 hurdles in 14.79. He was also fifth in the triple jump (35-6).
Aceyn won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.17. He tied for sixth in the high jump (4-10).
Gunner Hale placed second in the shot put (35-5 ½) and third in the discus (97-7).
Concordia was second in the 4x100 relay (50.37) and fourth in the 4x400 (4:18.32).
Stryker Hake finished third in the long jump (16-7) and fifth in the 200 dash (27.20).
Alan Garcia placed fourth in the 1,600-meter run (5:36.48).
Dakota Brockman finished fourth in the javelin (117-8) and Kadryn McManus was fifth (106-3).
McManus was also sixth in the 400 dash (1:01.48).
Billy Wahlmeier finished fourth in the 3,200-meter run (13:17.02).
Bergun Kindel placed fifth in the pole vault (7-10).
The Concordia eighth grade girls had Belle Chavey win the 100 hurdles in 18.37 and Cianna DeLeon win the discus with a toss of 82-3.
Chavey was also fourth in the triple jump (29-6).
DeLeon placed fifth in the shot put (29-11 ¼).
Sarah Blochlinger finished second in the javelin (75-9 ¾) and Shaelin Giersch was third (73-9 ¾).
Giersch was also second in the shot put (31-2).
Concordia's 4x100 relay team placed second (55.57).
Jaida Koester finished third in the 800 (2:42.54) and fourth in the 1,600 (6:31.60).
Kassidy Bowers placed fourth in the 100 dash (13.45) and in the long jump (13-1 ¾).
Concordia was fourth in the 4x200 relay (2:03.95) and sixth in the 4x400 (5:10.94).
Jaida Koch finished sixth in the 100 dash (13.66).
Cody Trost placed first in the 100 hurdles for the Concordia seventh grade boys with a time of 18.75.
Joey Henderson finished second in the triple jump (31-0) and tied for sixth place with teammate Lewis VanMeter in the high jump (4-6).
Keegun Beims was second in the discus (74-8).
Wyatt Franz placed fourth in the 3,200 (14:34.17).
Concordia finished fourth in the 4x100 relay (56.87) and the 4x200 (2:00.80) and was fifth in the 400 (5:07.99).
The Concordia seventh grade girls recorded four first-place finishes.
Megan Barr won the 3,200 in 15:15.16 and was sixth in the 1,600 (7:01.79).
Carlie Carlgren ran 18.01 to finish first in the 100 hurdles. She was second in the triple jump (29-1/2).
Hattie Blackwood placed first in the shot put with a toss of 31-1.
Concordia captured first in the 4x100 relay (58.15).
Madelyn Stiles placed second in the discus (62-1).
Abbigale Peterson was third in the 400 (1:08.46).
Joann Plush finished fifth in the high jump (4-2).
Concordia was fifth in the 4x200 relay (2:15.49).
