CJHS volleyball teams claim league titles

CHAPMAN — Winning three matches, all in straight sets, the Concordia eighth grade girls' volleyball team placed first in the North Central Kansas League Tournament played on Saturday.
Concordia, which finished the season 19-2, rolled past Fort Riley 25-9, 25-2 in the opening round of the tournament.
The Panthers knocked off Abilene 25-22, 25-14 in the semifinals.
Concordia captured the tournament championship with a 25-18, 25-15 victory over Marysville.
“We played awesome. They (Marysville) were one of our two losses, so excited to get the chance to beat them,” Concordia coach Laura Krier said, “They played well all day.”
The Concordia seventh grade also went 3-0 on its way to winning the league tournament.
Concordia opened with a 25-11, 25-3 victory over Chapman.
The Panthers got past Wamego 27-25, 25-21 in the semifinals.
Concordia downedAbilene 25-14, 25-9 in the title match, and finished up 17-4.
