CNB tumbles to Washington, 10-2

WASHINGTON – Erupting for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, Washington defeated Concordia Citizens National Bank 10-2 in the K-18 Baseball NCK League season opener Tuesday night.
Citizens National Bank grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Payton Breese led off the inning with a walk and stole second. He scored on an error.
Washington tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
A run in the top of the third inning gave Citizens National Bank a 2-1 advantage.
Dustin Sterrett singled to lead off. He scored on a ground ball by Keegun Beims.
Scoring a run in the bottom of the third inning, Washington tied the game at 2-2.
Washington then sent 12 batters to the plate and scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to capture the 10-2 victory.
Joey Henderson pitched the first three and a third innings for Citizens National Bank.
Breese worked the final two-thirds of an inning.
Jace Tholstrup had two hits for Citizens National Bank.
Citizens National Bank lost the three-inning non-league game 6-0 to Washington.
Washington scored one run in the first inning and five in the second.
