Eighth grade boys defeat Clay Center

CLAY CENTER — Concordia capped off its regular season with a 51-48 victory over Clay Center in eighth grade boys' basketball play on Thursday.
The Panthers limited Clay Center to just three points in the first quarter, and scored 11 points.
Clay Center poured in 18 points in the second stanza, to 13 for Concordia, to make it a 24-21 game at halftime.
The Panthers were outscored 13-12 in the third period, and led just 36-34.
Concordia tacked on 15 points in the final quarter, to 14 for Clay Center.
Aceyn Cash led Concordia with 20 points. Alec Francis added 14 points.
The Concordia B-team dropped a narrow 27-26 decision to Clay Center.
Concordia led the game 14-11 at halftime.
Clay Center scored 16 points in the second half, to 12 for Concordia.
Dakota Brockman scored nine points for Concordia.
The Panthers will play in the North Central Kansas League Tournament in Marysville next week.
