Eighth grade boys win season opener, 31-19

WAMEGO — The Concordia junior varsity boys' basketball team suffered a 54-42 loss to Wamego on Friday night.
Wamego jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first quarter.
Concordia tossed in 15 points in the second period, to 11 for the Red Raiders, to make it 27-22 at halftime.
Wamego outscored the Panthers 15-3 in the third quarter to go up 42-25.
Concordia scored 17 points in the final stanza to 12 for the Red Raiders.
Alec Francis and Alan Garcia scored eight points each for Concordia.
The Concordia C-team fell 55-47 to Wamego.
Concordia had a 29-20 halftime lead in the game.
Wamego poured in 35 points in the second half to 18 for the Panthers.
Gavin Massel led Concordia with 14 points.
Payton Breese added 10 points.
