Lions down Chevy/Buick in championship game

The Lions defeated Concordia Chevrolet/Buick 9-3 in the championship game of the Concordia Recreation Peewee Baseball Tournament played Wednesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
The American Legion downed the Knights of Columbus 13-7 in the third-place game.
The Lions advanced to the title game of the tournament by shutting out the Knights of Columbus 15-0 and Chevrolet/Buick toppled the American Legion 13-3 in the opening round.
Chevrolet/Buick jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the Lions in the top of the first inning.
Four runs in the bottom of the first put the Lions on top to stay.
The Lions added three runs in the second inning, and led 7-2.
Single runs in the third and fourth innings put the Lions up 9-2.
Chevrolet/Buick scored one run in the fifth inning.
Rush LeDuc scored three runs in the game for the Lions.
Drake Blochlinger and Logan Jackson scored two runs each.
The third-place game was tied at 2-2 through one inning of play.
Two runs in the top of the second inning gave the Knights of Columbus a 4-2 advantage.
The American Legion answered with 10 runs in the bottom of the second, and led 12-4.
The Knights of Columbus put up three runs in the top of the third inning, and trailed 12-7.
Ayden Krier hit a solo home for the American Legion in the bottom of the third inning.
Jackson tossed a three-inning no-hitter as the Lions blanked the Knights of Columbus in the first round. He struck out seven of the 10 batters he faced.
Leading 2-0 after one inning, the Lions sent 13 batters to the plate and erupted for 10 runs in the second inning to make it 12-0.
The Lions scored three runs in the third.
Chane Parker scored three runs for the Lions.
Boone Richard hit three home runs as Chevrolet/Buick got past the American Legion 13-3 in the opening round.
Richard hit two home runs in the first inning as Chevrolet/Buick racked up nine runs.
The American Legion made it 9-2 with two runs in the top of the second inning.
Chevrolet/Buick upped the lead to 12-2 with two runs in the third inning.
The American Legion scored one run in the top of the fourth inning.
Richard hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. He had four hits and scored four runs.
