Panther girls finish 10th at Wamego

WAMEGO — Led by junior Jordan Gilkeson, the Concordia High School girls' cross country team placed 10th in the Class 3-2-1A division of the Wamego Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Wamego Country Club.
Gilkeson finished 33rd individually with a time of 23:44.7.
Concordia finished with 276 team points in the meet.
Whitewater-Remington won the team title with 78 points. Christ Preparatory finished second with 90 points and Bishop Seabury was third with 151.
Concordia had sophomore Jaida Koester run 24:07.4 and finish 42nd.
Senior Harleigh Smith crossed in 61st place with a time of 25:53.2.
Emma Losh, a senior, ran 26:17.8 to finish 70th.
Sophomore Moyra Barnes rounded out the top five for the Panthers by finishing 127th in 30:08.4.
Concordia had freshman Megan Barnes place 128th in 30:12.4 and sophomore Peyton Johnson finish 135th in 31:23.6.
Erin Hammeke, Ellinwood, won the race in 19:43.8.
The Concordia boys had just two runners finish the race.
Sophomore Alan Garcia placed 36th for the Panthers with a time of 19:49.5.
Freshman Qwinter Zimmerman ran 22:25.4 to finish 106th.
Wyndom Giefer, Trego Community, placed first in 16:38.1.
Christ Preparatory easily won the team title with 42 points. Marysville was second with 133 and Silver Lake was third with 141.
