Panther golf team ties for fifth at Chapman

CHAPMAN — The Concordia High School golf team tied for fifth place in the Chapman Invitational on Tuesday at Indian Hills Golf Course.
Concordia posted a four-man score of 429 to finish in a tie with Clay Center.
Wamego won the tournament with a 334. Abilene was second with a 364 and Marysville was third with a 395.
Concordia was led by senior Paul Rundus. He turned in rounds of 47-46 to card a 93.
Freshman Hayden Dvorak shot 47-48 for a 95 for the Panthers.
“Paul kept things moving, but didn't quite seem to have the putting that put him in the 80's last week,” Concordia coach Gene Rundus said, “Hayden backed up a good day at Wamego with another decent round. Though he was off a couple of strokes, the course played long today, and I was happy with two rounds in the 40s.”
Senior Treyton Kindel shot 117 for the Panthers, and senior Tanner Smith rounded out the top four with a 124.
Austin Krier, a senior, shot a 128.
Gavin Wilson, Wamego, was the individual medalist with an 80.
